He holds a set of panflutes to his lips and he does not dance, merely sways. She sees that he is playing, but she cannot hear any flute music above the din of the pots, sticks and shouts. Aside from a white shirt and trousers, his body is draped in a beautiful cape of red and gold, the embroidery on it so exquisite she can see it in vivid detail even from her distance. His eyes are shut, but his face does not have the dreamy look that the other boys have. If she has to guess, he is the only lucid person in the entire clearing other than her.
